  • ​Associate Professor of Physics in the Dept. of Physics at Iowa State University, Ames, IA
Taught undergraduate physics courses, including a new series of laboratory courses, which I helped develop.                                                                                                                         
  • Research Physicist at the U.S. Dept. of Energy’s Ames Laboratory, Ames, IA
Engaged in high energy particle experiments and associated analysis. Lived and worked at CERN in Geneva Switzerland to set up and take data in a new experiment there related to exploration of further details of quarks and particle structure.                                                   
  • Chief Technology Officer at QMS, Inc., Mobile, AL – [1982 - 1997]
​Provided management and technology development planning for a staff of software and hardware design engineers ranging from about 10 people in 1982 through well over 200 people in 1997. My focus at QMS was on new product development and continuous improvement efforts for existing products. Worked closely with Marketing to develop and execute a strategic plan for new and competitive product introductions in a rapidly changing marketplace. Served on the QMS Board of Directors and Executive Management Team. QMS became a NYSE-listed public company in the mid-1980’s and grew to over $300 million in revenue before being acquired by Konica-Minolta.                                                                     
  • Member of Board of Trustees for Spring Hill College, Mobile, AL – [2002 - 2005]
Served for a term on this non-profit board, with assignments on committees dealing with facilities, curriculum and strategic planning.
 
  • President and CEO for Alto Imaging Technologies, Inc., Mobile, AL – [1997 - Present]
At Alto I lead a staff of software developers and sales/technical support specialists and coordinate marketing and sales activities with national reseller partners such as Canon Solutions America, Ricoh Americas, and Konica Minolta Business Systems. 

  • Member, Board of Directors of Centralite, a private IOT company - [2014-2017]
Centralite was an early entrant into the zigbee/zwave home and business device market in partnership with SmartThings which became a Samsung company.
